Learn about our planned updates for 2012 to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the QE2's launch. To coincide with the anniversary year of the Queen Elizabeth 2's launch (on 20 September 1967) we will be adding new content to this website, to bring more of the QE2 story to life.
Our QE2 Virtual Experience has proved very popular with QE2 fans around the world. Visitors to this site can take a virtual trip aboard the QE2, exploring her deck-by-deck. The panoramic images are one of the most complete records of the QE2 during her final year of commercial service. We will launch a new version in 2012 with updated deck plans and more panoramic photos.
Our QE2 Design Explorer will also be re-launched, with improved functionality and content, helping to tell the story of the world's most famous ocean liner.
Future updates beyond 2012 include, for the first time on our website, a record of the QE2's Heritage Trail. This is a collection of historic items positioned around the ship telling the history of the Cunard Line and the QE2.
