The QE2's final captain, Ian McNaught, talks about our QE2 Virtual Tour on the QE2 Story Forum. During August and September 2010 members of the QE2 Story Forum (http://www.theqe2story.com/forum/) submitted questions for the QE2's final master, Captain Ian McNaught, to answer. Given Captain McNaught's affection for the QE2 we wanted to know if he had seen our QE2 Virtual Tour.
Asked if he had visited this site, Captain McNaught responded "There are many sites looking at QE2 and her history, and looking at them always brings back happy memories, so yes I enjoy this site [http://maritime.elettra.co.uk/qe2/] very much, the photographs of the public areas are very good indeed, so thank you Richard for all your hard work."
Captain McNaught first joined the QE2 in September 1987 as a Second Officer later becoming Staff Captain in 1991, following serving aboard the Cunard Princess. In April 2003 Captain McNaught became the QE2's twenty-first Master and the QE2's youngest master at the age of forty-eight. His final command aboard the QE2 was her final voyage to Dubai in November 2008. Captain McNaught is now master of Seabourn Spirit of the Yachts of Seabourn cruise line.
