Notable works included a mural by Doris Zinkeisen for the Verandah Grill, a decorative map of the North Atlantic with a crystal model of the Queen Mary by Macdonald Gill for the cabin-class restaurant, Kenneth Shomesmith's painting of "Madonna of the Atlantic" for the cabin-class drawing room, Edward Wadsworth's maritime-themed paintings "The Sea" and "Dressed Overall at the Quay" in the cabin-class smoking room, and a painting by Charles Pears of the Cunard Mauretania on her way to the ship breakers at Rosyth for the tourist-class smoking room. Many of these pieces remain in-situ, while others displaced by the internal re-organisation of the ship in retirement are gathered together and displayed on C-deck (now R-deck).
